Reflection on project

Well well well, today is the day. The time has finally come, this project is done. Im so glad it’s done and I can finally sleep without thinking about this project. But im also surprisingly kinda sad. Like I dont want it be over and im going to miss working on the film opening with my partner Jano. This will be my finally blog talking about my project, including the opening, CCR’s, and blog post.

2 minute opening, this was the biggest part of the project. at he begging it of this project i was os nervous and feeling like I wasn’t ready for this project. But thanks to the best teacher ever, Mrs. Stoklosa, i had everything i needed. Im also so glad we were able to work with a group of partner. It was so much more fun than having to work alone. And I would like to give thanks to the best film partner ever Jano. Jano is able to drive so for almost everyday for 2 weeks he came to pick me up and drive us to the filming spot and we would film for hours. We also spent hours at both Janos and my house editing and planning and then get distracted and just laugh and talk. And then after filming we would go out for dinner. Which seems like nothing but im very greatful for these moments and time i got to spend with jano. And for editing dont even get me started. I was the main editor and it was the worst part of the project, or so i thought. Because once me and jano meet up and decide what we wanted the final project to look like it was a piece of cake. And it was so rewarding for the both of us to see our final project come together and be done. Also getting so much positive feedback from friends, and family.

For my CCR’s I did them both with Jano. My first one being interviewed on the side of the street, jano being the camera man and me being the main guy. We went to town center right after school to try to avoid the big crowds of people. And one funny moment was when we were filming on the big open sidewalk this little girl walked straight though the shot. And also we brought the prop money we would try to hand it out to people hehehehe. We also saw a cool car:)

For my second CCR we filmed at my house, well not really filmed but recorded the audio. The day prior we texted each other saying like, tomorrow we have to meet up and lock in and finish the editing and post the links. Jano came over and instead of getting straight to work we sat there for at least 1 hour watching other peoples film openings and comparing it to ours. And after we watched a couple we felt way more confident about our own film. The podcast was super easy and we got it done first try. To wrap up the CCR, for some reason the CCR’s for me were the hardest but im glad these are done i wont miss these.

Finally the blog post. At the beginning i thought these were pointless, but as the project went on it helped so much and i want to thank my amazing teacher Mrs. Stoklosa for pushing us to do these. It allowed me to reflect and be able to right this reflection. Honestly this is my favorite blog post yet being able to take about the whole project and not doing research im kinda gonna miss it.
I also kinda always waited to post every blog on Sunday which kinda wasn’t a good idea but whatever. Also i got in a lot of trouble when i got bad grades on blog by my mom.

In the end, i would love to thank all my friends that liked and gave feedback on my film, to all the people that were in my group meetings, also to my close group in that class, (isa, isa,Gigi, jano) for giving ideas and giving us good criticism, And my favorite teacher Mrs. Stoklosa for opening up my mind to the media world, which i never thought in my whole life would particiapte in a media class but you made it fun and i want to take another film class. But most importantly Jano, my best friend, the best filming partner ever helping me on blogs, filming, editing, being my personal driver, and making sure everything was good to the point where i had to tell him you need to chill out because he wanted it to be perfect. And i could never thank you enough for making this year one of the best and im so glad we finished out film, love you bro

Now all we have left is that stupid long essay which im 100% cooked :)

CCR post-production

hello blog. This blog post will be about my post production process of my CCR’s.

My first CCR is about a guy getting stopped on the side of the sidewalk being asked how much his ft cost. To where then the camera guy notices this piece of paper in his pocket. which happens to be the script for his new movie. And then it goes on from there and the camera man ask questions 3&4. Unfortunately I had some technical difficulties with the editing software, adobe premier. So i had to use iMovie for my first CCR.

For my second CCR is a podcast. Being hosted by my partner jano which happens to be play Thomas in my film “The motive”. He is the host of the podcast and I am the special guest. He will be asking questions 1&2 throughout the duration of the podcast. I also made a nice background picture for the podcast on canva and used some of the music from adobe premier in the intro and outro of the podcast. The audio was recorded on my phone and turned out pretty nice and overall super happy with the final result.

CCR Production

Hello blog. It’s CCR time. One of my videos will be about me getting stopped on the side of the sidewalk and getting almost interviewed, and the other will just be a formal talk with pop-ups.

For the first video I will be recording it at town center.  i will be stopped on the side walk by a guy with a. Camera asking how much my fit cost. Then i will give him a run down and then he will se a piece of paper in my jacket. I will pull out a stash of cash and give it to home then he will ask about the other paper (being my script for my new film). I will proceed to tell him that im an actor and he will recognize me as Lukias, and we will have a little laugh. Then the camera man will ask me to answer a couple questions. Those questions will be 3&4. Recording this CCR went pretty well and went smoothly and way better than I expected.

For my second video, i will be doing a podcast with the help of my friend jano being the podcast owner and i will be a special guest be able to speak about the movie and answering the CCR questions 1&2. To actually obtain this audio I will be using my phone (voice memos) to film the audio. Also i made this Podcast picture on canva. I will be discussing the conventions and social groups my film challenges and or uses. And also touching up on the distribution and how we would want to get “THE MOTIVE” out in the world.

CCR question #2

How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?

My film engages audiences by providing an emotional elements. For instance, Mr. Lukias’s mother has brain cancer and is fighting for her life breath by breath while her son lukias is trying to acquire the cure. And this is the case for many sons, daughters, and partners in the audience. furthermore my film could engage audiences making them wonder with all the technology, world class doctors, medicine, and years and years of research there is no cure for cancer. Could it just be hidden from the public to consume money from treatments and temporary medicine. It would make them wonder where the 190.2 billion dollars spent on cancer research goes to. And does the health care system have a cure but is hiding it from the public just to consume more and more money year by year.

I will distribute my film as a media text by trying to get it into a small local film festival, like the Sunscreen film festival . To enter you must submit you film online and must wait to get accepted and fill out a questionnaire. This festival takes place during May 5-7, which gives views 2 days to watch the movie. Another way I could possibly distribute my film is by trying to get on some of the biggest streaming platforms, like Netflix, Apple TV, prime video, HBO Max. This would be the best option considering these are some of the most used platforms used all over the world and would allow anyone to see our film. But that’s almost impossible.

CCR #4

hello Cambridge this blog will also be about my First CCR video containing question 3&4 but we will be focusing on question 4 this time.

QUESTION 4– how did you integrate technologies-software,hardware and online- in this project?

This is the link to the script for CCR question 3&4-Script

Well my entire project was lined on the CANON EOS REBEL T6I, this camera allowed me to get the best quality possible in comparison to an iPhone. It has many other pros like stabilization, zooming in and out, focusing, adjusting to lighting, color hues, the list goes on. In addition when downloading the videos from the camera to the editing software the quality of the video and audio remained the same rather than decaying. And for my software, I decided to use Adobe premiere, the reason being that adobe allowed me to get the highest quality editing while also being user-friendly. It also had tons of unique features that made editing much more fun and easier. I also found good use of canva for everything, like the links in my blogs, to the credits in my film, and even created the company production logo featured at the beginning of the film opening.

Another online software i utilized in my film was Artist.io . This is where I got all the audio for the film. Including the songs which were none copy right. it had just the right song that’s we were looking for.

CCR question #3

Hello Cambridge, this blog will be about my first CCR video. Containing questions 3&4. But for this blog I will be focusing on question 3.

QUESTION #3– How did your production skills develop throughout this project?

Prior to this class and project I have never been involved in any type of filming class or group, and never even liked or had an idea of filming and editing. And 7 weeks ago when we started this project I was scared and lost. But as this project went on I began to improve on so many things. I Learned that filming is not always gonna be perfect and you are going to have to do it over and over and over again until it’s just the way you want it and that okay. This also ties in with time management I learned that time management is everything. During this project you need to stay on track with filming, editing, and everything in order for it to turn out the way you envisioned. But one of the biggest improvements on my production skills I’ve seen is editing. At the beginning I hated it so much. And i killed me to edit, but as the project went on I began to enjoy Editing and having the opportunity to make my film look just how I wanted it. Also I did so many trials of ways I wanted the film to look, and Hours of messing up and restarting. And research on editing. It also improved my creativity. For example when setting up the desk scene I used old files, mail, expired checks, books, bills. Also the use of the light which really changed the way the scene looked and it turned out amazing
